You will be informed about when you can expect to be examined and treated, which means that you can wait at home if there is waiting time. If they do refer you to the emergency department, they will be able to advise you of which hospital emergency department or urgent care centre has the shortest waiting time. For example, they can refer you to a hospital emergency department or an urgent care centre, or send a doctor to you.
